Something my Mum once said to me was “Invest in a good mattress and a good pair of shoes, because if you’re not in one, you’re in the other”

Of course, I was a teenager at the time, so it didn’t make sense to me.

As a grown up, I get it.

My daughter needed a new mattress for a while, and she’s been lucky enough to be able to try out the Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress.

She wriggles A LOT so she needed something that will continually support her as she moves around in her sleep throughout the night.

Delivery

When I told my 9-year-old daughter she was getting a new mattress, I won’t lie, I’ve never seen a child so excited!

The morning of the delivery, she cleared toys from her bed (without me having to ask her) so all I needed to do was remove the bedding and her old worn-out mattress.

We were offered free delivery, and I was kept informed via text to advise when delivery will be and the delivery team called me about 30-minutes beforehand to check I was in. Very efficient and great service!

The Origin Mattress arrived rolled up in a box with separate boxes for the pillows. The last time I bought a mattress (which was a long time ago), it was big and bulky, things have clearly move on and this is way better.

As it was a single mattress, it wasn’t that heavy.

Unravelling the new mattress, it was really easy, we placed the rolled up mattress on my daughter’s bed and gently cut the plastic. Before we knew it, mattress inflated and came to life within moments.

What is it like?

I was a little concerned that the standard fitted sheets we already had may not fit the mattress but there was nothing to worry about. They were a perfect fit, ‘snug as a bug in a rug’ as my daughter commented.

As soon as it was ready, she got on with her book to lay on it for the first time.

The first thing she said when she lay down on it was “is this what it’s like to lay on a cloud?”

The ‘cloud’ comment must be from the top layer is Polar silk Tencel Pillow Top which gives it it’s soft and silky feel. That really made me smile. I didn’t tell her about the comfort layers, that’s what she said.

Every morning for about a week, my daughter ran into my room to tell me she had a great night’s sleep.

As someone who wriggles A LOT at nighttime, the orthopaedic layer is clearly providing her with the comfort and support she needs for her body type. She usually sleeps in a side position, and she’s been able to fall into a deeper sleep thanks to the motion isolation She also mentioned that it’s easier to get in and out of bed, so the excellent edge support is doing what it’s supposed to do.

Within a few nights, she asked to replace her winter duvet with her summer one. She doesn’t feel hot at nighttime anymore.

I didn’t want her to have all the fun so I thought I would lay on it too.

Conclusion

Would I recommend the Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress?

There’s absolutely no gatekeeping here.

A massive yes, a thousand time, yes!

The difference between traditional mattresses and hybrid mattresses is like night and day. You can instantly tell this is a high-quality mattress.

The comfort of this mattress is unlike anything else I’ve tried, the support is amazing, perfect for side sleepers, back sleepers, stomach sleepers and everything in between, and because it supports different pressure points, I think it will be great for anyone who requires support for lower back pain.

The Origin website has a range of available sizes suitable including single, small double, double, king size and super king-size and, in my opinion, this is one the best mattresses we’ve had. The bamboo Tencel cover is just so soft and gives it a great mattress feel. Perfect if, like my daughter, you like your creature comforts.
